Fast idle help!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just some info first 96 2.0 engine auto trans
Bought this car and drove it home pulled the battery put in new battery and it would not start after a few days of trouble shooting decided it was the PCM replaced it the car starts and idles about 26 hundered and drops to 15 hundred if you put it in gear it drops to 1000 put in park it go's back up. It is not giving any codes we replaced the idle air control still the same problem checked the TPS it is working fine the AIT sensor is ok. fuel pessure is fine compression is good checked for vacum leaks could not find any.
So I decided to check the EGR valve removed it cleaned it and reinstalled it. No difference but we put a hand held vacum gun on the EGR pull 5 inches of mercury idle went right down. My question is there some way to check the transducer that is suppose to regulate the vaccum to the EGR valve.
Sorry for the novel just wanted to give all the info.
Thanks
Tim
P.S. I really do not want to take this car to the local stealership$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Well we finally figured it out vaccum leak # 4 cylinder intake side. I hope this helps someone it has been the most aggervating car I have ever worked on. How we found it pulled the plugs #4 looked lean put them back in started the car sprayed some WD-40 around the intake and the idle went higher. A real pain in the *** to fix also.
Thanks for the help
