Default knock on passenger side

Hey guys whats up? new member here and its a neat forum! I have a question for ya, i have a 1998 avenger with a 4 cylinder and about 50k on it, i bought it new and its never been in a wreck of any kind, my question is on the passenger side when you hit bumps in the road it sounds like there is something hitting the firewall or something is loose on that side, i have check the suspension, swaybar, struts, pulled cowl vents to make sure nothing is in there, looked up under the dash could not find anything in there, checked the exhaust to make sure its cleared everything and have spent about 10 hours looking for other things it could be and found nothing! im frustrated and was wondering if any of you have had the same thing, or know what it might be! please please help me

Hood? I have a small rattle / knock on my passenger side also. I think it's the hood moving up and down on the hinge on the passenger side. If I push down on the hinge it has some give on passenger side but not on driver's side.

I tried tightening the hinge bolts but it didn't work, I think it's the actual hinge not the mounts.

I'm going to try putting some foam (weather stripping) between the hood and body to see if that helps.

There are bump stops on the front of the car that the hood sits on. If the hood is loose, it may be because of those not applying enough pressure to the hood. I would rotate those until there is enough pressure to push the hood up.

Tried the hood stops but being that it's the actual hinge joint that's rattling it didn't work. I put a bit of foam on the bottom on the hinge, so the hinge closes on it putting pressure on it. No more rattle.
