Default I need help And Info On the infinity stereo system

I just bought a 1995 dodge avenger and I'm very jazzed to get started making it great but it has the infinity system but there was no faceplate on the cd player so I don't know where to start???
Maybe I should try to find a faceplate which I'm sure is nearly impossibe considering i don't exactly know what i'm looking for??
So If anyone could help with suggestions and maybe a pic of what it looks like be very appreciated??

Thank You For Your Time,
BILL

So it's an aftermarket headunit then? The factory headunit does not have a removable faceplate. The easiest way to find out the brand is to remove the black radio/HVAC bezel, remove the screws that hold the radio in place and look for the name somewhere on the radio.

Yo I got this 96 Es 5-speed and I was wondering if any1 knew bout our stock radio. I burned sum CD's and they don't play cuz they're MP3's but I got this 1 CD my homeboy burned me a while back its an MP3 and it works fine. So I thought it was the brand of CD so I got this other CD from my girl MP3 also and it works. I even put it on my pc to look and see if mabye it was sum other format. I ask him what he used to burn it he said WMP I use the same stuff so whats the deal? So do we or don't we play MP3 in our stock radio or is there another music format that I don't know about?

When you say it's MP3 do you mean it's data or it was burnt as audio from MP3, big difference. My HD JVC plays both but I'm pretty sure the stock radio won't play an MP3 data disc.

When you burn audio, burn at the slowest speed your burner can. Also try not to do anything else while it's burning.

Some CD players are very picky, I used to have a moded PS1 and it wouldn't play anything burnt faster then 1 speed, which most newer burners won't do anymore.

There is a big differance between mp3 and wmp, WMP is a wave file format and will play in any CD player but they are huge files and you can only fit one CD ion a cd. Where mp3's compression lets you put upto 14 cd's on 1.

Exactly my point, slhomer. Mine also plays WMA format. It's amazing what you can fit on a CD with these compressions.

When I say MP3 .... aight the Lil Jon cd he burned me was from the original but he put it onto his pc and burned it using Windows Media Player. I have the same black Dell pc he does he just has an extra DVD drive that I don't. Alos when I said MP3 I was talking about when I put the cd on my pc and looked in the "D" drive folder next to each track it said MP3. Yeah with the MP3 I found that out with my girl she burned me 4 albums on 1 cd now thats whats up, she was also able to play it in her car but she has an aftermarket stereo.

So burn at a a slower speed huh? Aight preciate that

Aight I burned it using Windows Media Player (WMP) @ 1x the speed still no use in my car, also the WMP was set to HighMAT audio does that have to do with anything? There are 3 settings HighMAT Audio, Audio, and Data. Now Im using Musicmatch @ 4x the speed trial number 2.

P.S any1 know any other programs that I can download to my PC to burn a CD.

I use roxio EZ Media Creator, but there are a lot of burning programs out there cheaper.
I ripped out my my infinity and went with an after market Alpine MP3 player with 3 amps Sub and crossover.
It sounds much better then the Infinity and didn't cost to much.
I bought the amps and Sub from pawn shops there all MTX think i have about $500 into the whole system including the Alpine that i did buy new

Yeah, I always thought that the stock Infinity system was basic. So, if you want to burn a CD you will have to do a direct transfer, format included. MP3s and other formats similar compress the data and a Headunit that can read the data will play it back, the stock one won't unless it's a CD to CD burn which leaves out the MP3 or WMA formats. Burning with Highmat isn't a factor since some CDs are in that format already, you just get a "fuller" sound. The burn speed only make a difference in creating less errors and it's usually done in the next lower speed and not necessarily the slowest speed.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been awhile since I've done anything in this area
