rear strut rattle
Ok so my car drives fine, but there's a rattling noise coming from the rear passenger side... I've talked to a couple people who are mechanically inclined and all of them said it's the strut... My father who's also mechanically inclined thinks it might be just the strut mount.... This all started happening after I was driving one night leaving a parking lot and it kind of had a dip/little bump, and I may have took it too quick... I also have heavy subs in my trunk and that might have contributed... and a full car.
Anyhow, we can't figure out how to get to the strut. Any help?

I would put the rear end on jack stands, remove the wheels and move the suspension up and down, hit it with a rubber mallet, or whatever necessary to find the rattle. Bounce on the car from the back end first to see if you can duplicate the noise before jacking it up.
jack stands might be tough.... when I put my rims on... the reinforced frame is really rusted on the drivers side, and the rear frame part rusted through and it fell off the jack... managed to get the wheel on just in time though...
Talk about luck... Anyhow... yeah, bouncing the back of the car does duplicate the noise... and the noise only happens over bumps, or between the speeds of like 20mph-50mph and then it goes away...
Sooooo...
removing the back seat huh? :P aw crap... any more details?

I know >_< It sucks, the body LOOKS great, but I realized after I bought it that it was rusted on the under body quite a bit... after I bought my system, tints, and rims :P haha
Oh well, only trying to get by on this car till I get out of college.
