yes i just recently found out i need a new transsmission. reason i was told to put the worng type of trans fluid in my car and its messed up right now its still drivable but i dont know how much time i really have. my question is i can get a trans from a junkyard for about 75 dollars if i pull it or about 130 or 180 if they pull it for me and my brother goes to an automotive training school and said his class can put it in for free wat i want to know is if i pulled the trans myself what exactly do i pull beside the trans like any wires sensors etc. that i should be aware of (its a 5 spd trans) any one have any sugg. i only have 88000 miles on the car but i am really fixed for money and i know the possiblity of finding my car or an eclipse/talon with that many miles on it is slim to none.

Pull everything trans related, most of it is on the trans already, so it shouldn't be too confusing. Just make sure that if you get a tranny that's been sitting in the yard for too long to look it over really good. You may have to flush out the old stuff a couple times (you have to drive it around to get the gunk to settle around the drain bolt). Make sure to use a good name brand tranny fluid if you're rough on the tranny too.

 

ok kool i go to the junkyard almost every weekend and i havent seen my car or eclipse talon yet well i saw the talon but by the time i got there the trans was pulled but i am there allot so i dont think it would be sittin there long but i still might flush it just in case im also looking for that eclipse center console lol i think that looks allot better then the stock venge
