Can get a '95 Avenger for 1500 (Can), solid inside and out , 180*** kms on it . Just wanted to know if this would last me at least 5 years if i sunk some money into it?

 

4 $1500 thats dangerously low for a car cuz you figure just having a running motor and body u can ge a G. Whats the whole situation with they guy sellin it so cheap. Also run a Carfax History report, I did b4 I bought my wip.

 

1500 cheap huh... funny thing i only paid 250 for my 95 avenger es 2.5 with 150,000 on it.. ran real crapy when i bought it but looks way good on the out side interrrior needs work and the eninge needed it real bad so does the susspison but i have had a lot done and about 500 bucks in parts latter she runs good and i bet i get a bunch more years outta her....

C thats exactly what I was talking about. You got really lucky fro 250 and it was still running the du u must have bought it from must have been really in need. I bought my Venge for $3500 only thing she needed was that lowerball joint, but that was my fault on letting it break b4 I got it fixed other than that its lil minor things like seat covers door handle, and tune up oh and my clutch boot swelled up and tune up. IMO since I know how to do body work I rather have a S#!^^Y Booty a$$ body and a nice motor, I use to have a 94 I think Chrylser Concord I put so much money into that car I could have bought a Viper. That was like have a great lookin girlfriend with cancer. Look great on the outside and interior was still bran new but the electrical, suspension and motor was dying slowly. Still till this day I hate those cars. So its a matter of how much time and money are you willing to spend keeping that car alive and is it worth it? I always try to buy used because of the depreciation but I try to keep it in a certain price range.

 

Did you ask when the timing belt and water pump was last changed ? They recomend every 60k

I got my 96 for $1800 with 120k on it, but so far I have replaced the headlights for $450, both O2 sensors about $150,
Crank Sensor $65, Oil change and Tranny flush $150, and on the 18th new belts and water pump for $450

The car was strait and clean when I bought it, and the person I bought it from originaly wanted $3500 for it. But after I discussing what i would have to put into it we agreed on a much lower price.

So far im up to $3000 + change but i do need new tire's soon Cha-ching $1000

wow $150 for oil and trans I just paid for the fluid then again the trains I could find the filler plug so I got it dun with the tune up whci came 2 $85. Me I think im down 1,500 but $600 of that was from tie rod and CV boot funny tho I said I was gonna ride this car till the wheels fell off and 1 of them did I should went through the dealer to get it dun for free but time is money and I needed my car back yesterday.

07' Venge huh? IMO I would wait till 08 to buy it just to get all the Service bulletines and recalls posted and out of the way. There is nuttin worse than saving up all your money for a wip, 1st thing you do is show it off to all yo friends and family then sumthing falls apart half way through your lil tour. Just throws all your cool points out the window, and since your one of the first buyers ur the 1st sucker to pay for it until it becomes a common prob or a real saftey issue.
