Default Had to get a ride home ...

I got up this morning and went to work. Car ran like a dream. I get out of work tonight and it cranks but won't start. So I called a friend to come give me a lift home.

I just did fuel filter, plugs, wire, dist cap and rotor.

The bad news is the car's at work so I won't have all my tools at hand, unless I get it towed 18 miles home (or to a shop if I can't figure anything out).

Anything off the tops of your head(s) I should check?

Well it's home now ... I tested for voltage on the fuel pump connector, because it wasn't turning on and got 12v between the 2 pins. Changed the fuel pump and it still didn't turn on and the voltage was the same ... Odd. Ripped the 3 relays on the firewall apart and re-arranged them, couldn't just switch around due to them being key'd. Guess what it started.

So now I'm going to replace all 3 of those relays and keep the new fuel pump anyway.

It seemed odd to me that the pump was getting 12v while the key was on but not running.

I work two hours away from my housei was headed home and about an hour out mine just stalled. So i tried to restart it and it just cranks also. So i have to rent a trailer to bring it home about an hour away a towing service wats at least $200. To Tow it Im pretty sure or im hoping its the fuel pump or the filter.

Still haven't changed those relays yet. Autozone wants 17 each, all mopar wants 11 each, but then parts express is as low as 2 each.Whichever way it's done I'll lose the nice 3 relay mount, unless they luckily fit inside the old casings. I didn't try the dealer, which would probably be the only way to keep the nice 3 mount casing.

You can replace the relays with the ones from radio shack too. They don't have to be the "keyed" relays. They're around $5 I think. It's been awhile since I bought any from there so don't quote me on that.

I checked there on the way home yesterday and they didn't carry SPDT auto relays in the store anymore.
