95 Squeal Noise
Just finished fixing the front driver side control arm which came apart and took out the axle.. got the car back together, but when we went to start it, it made a horrible squealling sound that i would have thought was coming from the belt or perhaps pulley. But it sounds like it is coming from the transaxle side of the engine in the front corner. It is hard to hear at idle, then gets progressively louder as the RPM's get higher. At first the car would idle ok, now trying it, it barely idles.. and tends to stall out after a few secs of running. Each time we started it up we only let it run for sort durations to aviod internal damage if that is the case.
The car went down doin about 10km around a corner. The front "straight" control arm came loose, the strut hammered the axle out and the lower subframe hit the ground. It ran fine when it was started right after.
Has anyone ever had a problem similar to this? its the 95 Avenger with the 2.5v6 engine auto trans.
Thanks

Ok check eng pan, its fine. Now the damn thing just cranks. First I'm gonna put a bunch of gas in it, they start diagnostics.
does anyone know if this is a free wheeling engine? Could the timing belt be broken, and it turn over without wacking a valve??

Things I would check...CPS, starter motor, perhaps distributor.
