not too mention the injen intake on exile's site is a short ram intake, not a cold air intake. your better off getting one off of ebay and buying a good filter. and if i remember right the 4 cylinder intake's should work just fine on the 6 cylinder engine.

I agree about the piping and the filter and you are correct about the 4 cylinder (420a) intakes working for the V6 cars too.

Exile went into R&D a year back I believe and have stopped doing a lot of things...I'm not exactly sure why though. If anyone plans to order anything from them, be sure to call first and leave a messege or an email. If you don't get a response in a decent time, then it's safe to say go elsewhere.
I'm kind of sad that they aren't around like they used to be. Steve is a really good guy and the shop took the time to answer any question you had about their swaps. I do recommend their "bulletproofed" and built A604 though. They know the issues with the stock one and they have had their fair share of issues with them, so I feel comfortable with their built tranny...assuming one can get a hold of them to purchase one.

Ebay Eclipse CAI

under $40 shipped.

Now, this is a good find. Buy this for the piping alone and get a quality K&N filter and you're set to go. During the winter and rainy seasons, I would remove the lower pipe and run it as a RAM to keep water out of the motor or buy a seperate water bypass filter.

I really dont want to run a cai mainly for the reasons silver mentioned.

So a ram air is sufficient for me. I will still try and stay away from the injen intake though.

Is stock airbox stilla better bet with a drop in?

I will def get in touch with Exhile when the time comes, I really was liking the rebuild on the tranny they have there along with a few other things.

id suggest joining ASEC and talking to a few of them about exile. it seems like they've gone downhill lately with customer service. and quite honestly i see a short ram intake as a waste of money when you'll pay just as much for the cold air intake on ebay. but a bypass valve for $25 on ebay and there ya go problem solved. ive ran my cold air intake all winter (without a bypass valve) and i still have it on right now and i live in WI and no problems. just be smart about it.
