New Stereo... no sounds coming out :(
Bought a new stereo, purchased a kit and a wiring thingy... connected the power and 'grounded' (i think) the cable with one of those bolts found inside the hole where the old infinity radio used to be... connected all the speakers to their proper colors, connected the stereo (some pionner) to the red, ground and yellow wires, to the speaker wires, and connected the antenna...
Turn on car, stereo comes to life, it tunes in FM signal, nothing comes out from speakers... not even white noise
Maybe I didn't grounded it properly? what's a good spot to ground a new stereo?
I thought it was like a 30 minutes job and it turned out to be 2 hours and I'm not even finished...
help!?

wops... sorry, forgot the extra info:
95 Avenger with stock infinity system, I don't need/want new amp or speakers.. I just want to play CDs... (pionner CD-MP3, WMA-AAC)

Did you connect the remote wire (blue) to the remote wire that goes to the stock amp? If you only wired up an aftermarket headunit and without an aftermarket amp, you will need to use the stock amp or you will need to run new wires to each speaker and use the built in amp from your new headunit.
Oh snap!
A quick basic electronics course would probably help me avoid this kind of embarrassment [8D]
No, I did not connect any blue wire... only power (red, yellow), ground (to some metal screw inside the back cage) and all the speaker wires... I guess is my fault.
Tomorrow early morning I will wire that and see if it works.. and if it does, you just helped me to have a pleasent 3 hour trip (also happening tomorrow... being the main reason I bought the stereo).
tyty
ps: any other place to put the ground wire? somehow I feel I am doing it wrong (the stereo did turned on and all the stuff).

Nope, that stock ground location is fine. I hope that works out for you. I drove my car back from Iowa to Missouri without a radio, just the sound of the exhaust, lol. Have fun on your trip and be careful[sm=smiley20.gif]
LMFAO, ROTFL... the blue cable was the problem, haha
I was able to quickly secure eveything, put the CD player back in place, and enjoy all those illegal MP3s during the 3 1/2 hours trip!
woho! many thanks... it was my first 'mod' on this 95 avenger that I purchased a few months ago
I'll ask again some misc things... thank you very much.
