I have a 98 avenger and when i turn the radio up loud it cuts out, also if i turn the wipers or lights on it will cut our then as well. I am not sure what the problem is.

 

I think its ur battery. I had that problem when my alarm wuz trippin. But when I had the radio and lights on while driving its wuz fine but I did sumtin extra like opened the door, a/c, or put her into reverse she cut out.

 

your radio cut out may be because your bass is too high. but it does sound like a battery problem as well.

 

Yeah, it sounds like the radio needs more power than it can get and shuts off. Get a gel cel or deep cycle battery and it won't do it anymore....or....turn it down, lol.

yea mine had the exact same problem i had my radio, and neons hooked up to my regular battery and since my neons were hooked up, it has had trouble powering all of the things in my avenger so it would cut the radio out every once in a while... so i went and bought a high performance battery and it powers everthing just fine...
