Default Check Engine Codes on a 98

I have a 98 V6 Avenger and today my check engine light came on. I found the 'key dance' routine but it states that it only works for 95-97 model years. Is there any other way to pull codes for a 98 without a scanner?

As a side note, the car is working fine otherwise so I think it might be the O2 sensor. I had the sensor (well one of them) replaced less that two years ago. Is it possible for the same one to fail so quickly or is it most likely one of the other ones?.

I've found out that one of my buddies has a scanner so that's not a problem anymore but now it brings to the question of where is the scan port?

Well I was way off, it was

P0551 - Power Steering Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance

I cleared it and I'll see if it comes back.
