It originally had a roll bar. I've got a picture of it. My dad wanted the use of shell... it could easily be replaced though.

Willing to throw out a VIN number on it? If not, You should send the VIN into dodge and post up a build sheet on it. That would confirm if it was actually a "prototype" or just a custom paint/uppholstry.

Nice truck though!

What motor is in it?

Sending the VIN into Dodge is a great idea! I knew I'd get some good feedback on this site. Thanks for the tip! I just received a list of 3 guys to contact. One is the son of the original owner of Autostyle. I'm really excited to try to make contact this next week. The engine is a 3.9 L V6. It IS 4 wheel drive. VIN 1B7GR14MXHS441559

I just simply do not like the look of them, on pretty much any pickup. Its nothing against this truck in particular.

yea... it looked pretty sick with the original bar on the back. I've been tempted to take the cap off myself, but since it's there it was helpful to truck around my music gear without it getting wet. What was interesting about the VIN decoder?

The VIN might not tell you anything because it probably left the factory as a bone stock truck and then customized by a dealership. I would think that there would be a paper trail of somesort with the aftermarket company or the origional dealership.

Good luck and keep us posted.

And yes, put the bar (my guess is its the light bar like I have and not an actual roll bar) back on. If it was part of the package, it could hold more value.

yes, it was a light bar... more cosmetic than anything. I spoke with my dad about it this past weekend. I think you're probably right about it leaving as a stock truck. I'm getting more feedback on it too. Whatever the turn out, it's been fun looking into it. I'll keep posting as I find new info
