Default How to buy an air compressor?

Hi everyone. Just a random question of the day.
I'm curious as to what to look for in an air compressor. I am looking for something I can run an impact wrench and air hammer and such with. I want to be sure I can take on tougher jobs like exhaust bolts and other high-rust parts when the time comes. 'tis the season to get cool things and I'm starting my list, lol.

thx

Minimum tank size I would suggest is 10 Gallon. If you can afford more go for it. As far as brands ect, it is all up to you just get a good warranty with it. If you have a Harbor Freight go with them, they have great deals, and the 20% off coupons are everywhere.

Get one with a separate motor/pump assembly, your hearing will thank you.

If you get a small one be sure to get one that has the SCFM requirements of your tools. Look at tools and read data plate. Ihave a real compressor and a little one, little one ( 10 gal) wilolorun tools for spot repairs etc but for extended work the bigger one is better.

CFM refers to Cubic Feet per Minute... the volume of airflow.

"A standard measurement of airflow that indicates how many cubic feet of air pass by a stationary point in one minute. The higher the number, the more air is being forced through the system."
