Default Help Deciphering a Diagnostic trouble code

Hello all,

I have a 93 dakota 2WD with the 5.2L. I am getting an intermittant Check engine light. When this happens the motor runs rough but never dies. Usually I can shut her down and start her back up and she runs like the day I got her.

Getting a diagnostic code of 27. Injector output circuit not responding?

Does this mean I need a new set of injectors or maybe just a good cleaning? Or can other items in the fuel delivery cause this code. Hate to tear it apart during the cold michigan winter, but I may have to.

Any help you all could provide, or if anyone has ever gone through this one, let me know...

Maybe a bad injector, or bad power splice. Or bad wires or connectors.

Mine would do this but it threw no codes. pull off the road restart and go. Had the guy in town read the engine no codes either, his est was loosing prime somewhere. I found bad connector from battery to power module, small wire from positive to panel box drivers side, three wires here two large one small it was the small red one. Running lucas F/I cleaner and tried two tanks of mid range. I discovered when at the side of the road from repeated key on key off not trying to start that a relay clicks three times in the box before it clicks no more. I now do the key thing and it runs great all the time if I do it. I have found a bad gasket on the fuel tank but id rather click right now than pulla tank or raise a bed good luck.

After you check the wiring... and if there is no problems found.

I have read in the past that you can check the injectors for power with the engine running. Also you can note that if you pull a injector and the engine does not change idle, that injector is most likely the cause. If it is, swap the injector with another one and see if the bad injector causes problems at another injector port.

You can also test the resistance (Ohms) of the injectors to see if there is a break or malfunction.
