Default Towing with Dak

Towed roughly 1000+ lb thru mountains of Md. Va. and W.Va with the 94 4x4 318 last week. Old Dak did great 136k and he performed flawlessly. Believe it or not the old guy averaged 14 m/g round trip. Some of those hills I was holding 20 to 25 on because I didnt think old guy needed the tranny strain. I actually made the trip two days earlier towing my 2003 Mach One with a 1 ton rental u-haul. 15 to 20 mph was its tops same hills, brakes got really hot coming down one mountain and gas mileage was a dismall 9 M/G. ( Had to rent their truck, would not rent tow dolly for Dak pulling a Mustang). For old Daks!!

Strange you should ask had not been to the mountain for 6 months, someone broke into house stole a bunch, trashed the place. Sheriff's department said they wait till this time of year to steal cars and boats, just come back and make like its theirs. Figured get the car out its worth 15 grand, Boat didnt cost that when new so no brainer. Selling car going to buy another house in Pa. or Ohio or WV. Going to sell the house now its was invaded..

dang that sucks...last time some broke into my car i waited for them with a high powered paintball gun...it was effective enough to get them out of the neighborhood for good(amateurs, sp?)...car hasn't been messed with since, but i have since then moved out to the countryside again...

the weird thing is whenever i towed or hauled with my dakota i'd always blow a rear wheel cylinder...even if they were brand new... weird.

Ya brakes are important, since I bought him used 10 months ago i was not happy about a forced tow but i had to. Replaced rear brakes, had about 20 % lining, one leaking wheel cylinder, so it was a good decision, dont know how they passed inspection, legally but we all know about inspection from bogus little car lots. I need to do fronts now, getting the usual chrysler sqeak sqeak and bumpity bump in front when braking.
