A thought..
I was just on a chevy forum tryna locate a sensor on my room mates truck, and I happened to notice that they have a seperate section for the DIY threads. Maybe it would be a good idea to do that here too so that the newbies dont have to look so hard, as most of them dont even make the effort to check the FAQ section. But with that being said, I guess maybe they wont check in that section either?

Several other Sub-forums have it setup like that. Most Rams sections and 3rd gen Dakota. The only bad thing is the FAQ and FAQ2 has tons of info on it. The FAQ that your talking about only would be for links and no info on the page. Also like you said most wouldn't be able to find it. Just like they can't find it when it is a few posts above that one with a Giant green arrow and the memo says what is in it.
I agree with op. Who would we have to PM to organize this into some different catagories such as:
- Welcoming Center - New members can introduce themselves
- General Discussions
- Modifications/Technical- broken into groups (audio/visual, wheels/tires, performance, etc)
- Marketplace- where we can buy and sell parts, trucks, ect
- Trouble shooting and walkthroughts- we can post details on the installations we have done
