amazing milage
I had an old 97 towncar with 535k on it when I sold it, last I saw it had 540k and counting. Was my friends car, he ran a livery service so it was his work and personal car. Well maintained, wear out a lot of stuff you don't normally at that mileage but still a nice clean solid car.
quote=Shelbyfan;2658352]anything over 200k without any major work is good, anything over 300k (honda, toyota, VW don't count) is superb. It is amazing what just regular maintenance will do.
314k on my 89 Horizon and the tranny went.
650k on m 02 ram cummins.
180k on my 94 Dak.
A friend has a 92 olds 88 that has over 300k and a 98 F150 with 275K
They sure don't make them like they used to, thank goodness.[/quote]
Aint it the truth remember the 80 models and polution controls

Just hit 160k.
I wanted so badly to see 300K, but i overestimated the previous owner's care. The tranny is about to go out.
Ever since i got the truck, i have taken great care of it, but it just wont make it without major work.
I am going to get another car - something with better gas milage... geez! $450+ a month in gas...
I plan to completely rebuild everything. Turn it into a project car, and hopefully, turn it into a storm-chasing truck, but that is dependent on price ATM.

My family had an 04 Chevy Express 2500 with the 5.3L. Regular maintenence, all that was replaced was suspension parts and brakes and the such. 550xxx before the compression loss made it hard to use for heavy deliveries which it had been doing for 5 years everyday. It wasnt babied everyday either.
Hello to all you Dodge fans. I'm Professor Donald and I love my Dodges. I have always had Dodges all my life and I think I have done repairs on almost every part on them for my self and other Dodge owners. I am about to do a first for me. My Dodge DEkota alternator is showing up with weak power and it sounds like it has some failing bearings too. Never done a replacement befor but I don't know where to get the bearings and brushes, and regulater kit. My engine is a 3.9 with AC and power steering. Can someone out there please send me any information on a replacement kit. My email is, boyer8836@yahoo.com Thanks

93 Dak 4x4 with 3.9l 5 speed, 220k on it and have only had it a month. Waterpump, battery , hoses, t stat and housing, new clutch, and new front brakes, rears will be soon with all parking brake cables. Still strong and fun to drive. Gas mileage, ya it is a truck with 4 wheel so what can ya do. I look forward to 300k, will crack a beer or 3 that day.
'93 Dakota 3.9 V6 automatic transmission here. I don't know, odometer stopped working at 120,xxx miles, and that was 7 years ago. Love that truck - got to find an odometer - helps in knowing when to change oil/filter...
