did a fliud and filter change on the truck today.
technically i did this saturday but i've been so busy lately i haven't had time to post.
it started a couple weeks ago when i was test driving the truck(adjusted the brakes) and i lost 3rd gear. it got worse and worse and you could literally hear the fluid sloshing around in the trans. well i waited a few weeks and finally got the time to pull the pan and the filter was so gumed up that it was holding fluid in it when i removed it(didn't even drain out the hole. also had a quart of fluid above it that i didn't realize was there...lol
so i let the trans drip dry as i cleaned the pan out, the took a rag and dried up the trans and where ever fluid had spilled (3 days later my hands still smell like trans fluid) put the new filter on and put new fluid in let the truck idle as i cleaned everything up and took it for a drive. what a difference a $30 fix can make. trans runs like brand new, though it shifts had due to the cam.
next paycheck i'll be doing the same thing again but i might skip the filter if its still good.
not sure if i mentioned this before but i when i removed the bed i went through the tail light wiring(from the connector to the sockets) found the sockets were bad. so i went down to fleet farm(10min drive) spent $40 on 4 new sockets and 4 bulbs and the lights work like new.
also last night towed my friends s-10 home(bad fuel relay but his father shorted out the pcm trying to half *** it) and with the brakes on his truck locked my truck(idling) wouldn't stop...lol but as we started out with only 3ft of tow rope between his truck and mine the first turn i made the turn short and his (lowered) truck kiss my bumper hard enough to break the tailight bulb o i was bothered by cops all night...lol
very happy with my truck. paid $500 for it and only had to put in less than $100 so far.
p.s. my sister wants me to paint the truck black and give it to her when she gets her license...lol (love for trucks and lead feet runs in my family)
just wanted to sharethe fun parts of my s****y weekend.

lol i reread my post and i actually meant wouldn't stop...lol there are black marks on the road from where his brakes locked and my truck kept idling down the road...lol his truck hit mine hard enough to brake the tail light bulb on the left side of the truck(opposite of where the two met...weird)
but i do have this weird issue where if i put the truck into nuetral or park it'll rev up and at that time if i try to put in reverse no matter how hard the brakes are pushed the rear tires will spin(i have little black marks all over the driveway from this)
do i have to reteach it how to idle?
