i have a 1990 dodge dakota with a 2.5 4cyliner every body says they are slow and under powerd but i have had no problem with mine getting with the program it reads 85 mph and i have beat my freind in his 97 dodge ram with a 360 doing over 105 so just wondering if any one knows what the top seed is i mean shes old but she only has 100,000 on her

 

LOL top speed of the 4 cly I would say 80 but you did 105. Your not going to get much faster then that.

 

im not sure either. but i do know the pre 96 2.5l's are the same as the fwd turbo mopars...just without the turbo of course...lol

 

I say your speedometer is off a bit. I would doubt they would get past 90. My 88 horizon, 5 spd, much lighter than a dakota and better geared for highway, would stop at 85. There is no way even a perfect running 2.5 would keep up with even a tired 360 unless a lot of mods were done or the person driving the ram didn't know what he was doing. Those 2.5's are rated at 100 HP and 132 TQ.
