SLT Powerwagon Dakota? Please tell me this is all a big joke.
So today, I was reading the dodge dakota wikipedia page, and I found this in reference to 1995 model year changes
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_D...ond_generation
Then I found this video on youtube of what appears to be a perfectly normal, if slightly beat-on dakota SLT.
What's the deal with this? I'm almost inclined to believe the same guy who posted the video added that section to the wikipedia page. None of it seems right. A 242ci v6 (jeep 4.0 i6?) that made more power than the 318? 8500lbs towing capacity from a dakota? What sort of backwards world is this?
Other changes included revisions to color and overall trim options. A SLT PowerWagon trim package was added but roughly 3000 were made with 1250 of those being four wheel drive. It came with a 242 V6 Magnum engine with an output of 245 horsepower (183 kW) and 295 lb·ft (400 N·m) of torque and was capable of pulling up to 8500 pounds rather than the 6500 for the base model.

I doubt it. But if anything it was just a color and sticker option. As for the engine and HP and TQ numbers above the stock Magnum V6 no. The factory service manual and parts manual made by Dodge would state there was a special option.
As well as the FSM would specify the towing capacity.

i know that truck anywhere! they lived 2 houses down from us before they sold it last year, we worked on it for him and yes, it did dyno at over 240 hp, and it pulled horse trailers fully loaded multiple times during the year that easily weighed 8000 pounds. i remember a few times a year he had slicks on it and would take it to the humbolt drag strip. thing was epic. he did have the original recipt and dealer stickers stating that it was a SLT Power Wagon Dakota. they did it at the dealer but he said it has forged pistons an aggressive high lift cam, a duel exhaust, 4:10 gears, bored out, ram air and im forgetting a lot of the rest. i drove it twice and that thing would put you in your seat if you hammered down. gave him about 7 mpg though.
