Some post Hurricane Sandy related dakota pictures, and a video.
So after the hurricane, my girlfriend's brother and I went out to make some $ from missed work and help clean up the mess in the storm's wake. We figured tree crews would be busy with trees on houses and power lines, so we tried to help with trees in driveways and on lawns, just so people could get cleaned up a little quicker, much cheaper. So we loaded up my 3 chainsaws into the dakota and away we went. The truck performed great through all of this hard labor even with getting backed into while parked at a job site. (Hit and run, though I know it was one of the neighbors, just cant prove it.) So $75 later and a few hours of searching and working and a new door was put on and all is well again. You can see the damage in the pictures.

Here we are in the back yard of a home (which was COVERED in limbs and small trees), driving through the "community garden" to get there. Made several trips with the truck fully loaded down their narrow tree filled walk way. Cars aren't supposed to be back there.

This is a nice older mans house, this giant tree fell across his driveway. Unfortunately 2 more trees fell, one on his house and one on his neighbors garage. This was all we could clear that day. Mind you this and the last house are up in the "clive hills" area which is a fancy high priced neighborhood.

Quick video of my little dakota dragging an oak log bigger than it to the curb.

When we cut this trunk, we needed to roll it, but it weighed so much, we couldn't so I figured I'd bump it with the hitch. Well next thing you know I rode right up on the log. Whatever, it worked and no damage was done, so I'm happy.

And thats all for the pictures we took that week. Maybe I'll get some wheeling pictures soon, if I can get the time to get out to the swamp to play. Its been about a year now.

Yeah, this truck has paid for itself MANY times over, literally. Over the year and a half I have owned this truck I have made and saved more than I payed for it at least 2 times. I work this thing as hard as most commercial f250's work on a near daily basis and it takes it in stride with some simple maintenance.
The accident did put quite a damper on the experience, but thankfully we made out well and I got a decent door cheap. Now its in the past.

No pics of the new door, yet, I can get some soon though. And those tires are 31x10.50 15's.
And thanks, everything here is ok. In my area everyone has power again and we're all back to work and school and the usual. A few miles away at the shore though its a whole nother story.
