Hello, was able to locate some headers for my 3.9L V6 for $300 and was wondering if they are worth it? Or Would I be wasting $300? Thank you in advance.

This is more of a philosophical question than whether a couple of hp gain is worth $300. As my grandma was so willing to point out (about one of my girlfriends, no less) you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
The engine in your truck is a compromise, supposedly. Not huge power, but supposedly enough to get the job done economically.
Do you have an extra $300 to toss down a rat hole? If so, probably the headers aren't a bad thing to spend money on. And probably a less restrictive exhaust, too. It all comes down to whether or not you can afford it.
$300 is (for us economically challenged) a months groceries, 5 tanks of gas, or 5 trips or so (with a date) to the Sushi bar.
But you have MY permission to spend your money however you like

Thanks Brian. Looks like I would be better getting a better catalytic converter and upgrading the Y-pipe next year from what others have told me. The truck already has a Magnaflow catback from prior owner. Yeah, I was asking because even the cheap Summit Headers I had on a 68 318 weren't but, $130 then $30 for the Remflex Gaskets. Those headers made some difference but, it also had a Summit (Crane) camshaft in it. I figure I would ask if I could I get a little more power but, looks like my best is the replacing the cat and the Y-pipe which is still cheaper and oh yeah throw in an O2 sensor too.

I have a 3.9, stock internals, shorty Edelbrock headers, high flow cat, 1 in 2 out Magnaflow muffler, open air cleaner, removed clutch fan replaced with Shelby electric. Net gain was probably around 20 to 25hp. It equates to a more responsive truck, particularly at cruising speed.
If you can find a Mopar Performance 4 barrel intake and one of the M.P. cams offered long ago, then your on your way to something better.

Hey 90droptop, thanks for the input. I am thinking of just a better flowing Y-pipe and cat would make a difference. I already have 3:90 gears in this truck and I don't have a clutch fan. Just the 4 blade setup.
I might consider them if they're still around in the future and sometimes I have seen a set pop up from time to time. Right now I just had all of my brakes done and now I just need to get the cab mount bushings done as well plus the other little stuff plus with Christmas I am attempting to leave some money to help buy the wife gifts. One thing I did do is I did add MSD Streetfire wires to my truck. The way I did that is I ordered some for an Mopar SB ie (273/318/340/360) application and used them minus of course two wires. I'd say they're okay for $35 and I also like running NGK plugs. In addition I also put a new cap and distributor pickup as well. I bought two new Mopar ones for $30. As I said 3.90 gears do help with the truck.
I am now thinking a better Y-pipe and high flow cat would pretty decent. Not as much as headers but, in the classic Mopar community there is a few things we like to do especially if we own a 318 from the 68-70 era. If we don't want to run headers they say the best thing for a 318 in the exhaust department is to do a higher flowing exhaust in the way of dual exhaust off the factory manifolds with some high flow mufflers and pipes no larger than 2.5" inches. That increases power some and fuel economy. Anyways, just brainstorming. $300 is nothing compared to TTis which run $700+ for any Mopar V8 in the classic world.
