Problems with engine dying
Well i"m still fighting a losing battle with my 1993 Dakota, 5.2 4x4. I replaced my fuel pump and pressure regulator, map sensor and ignition module in the distributor. I'm still having the motor die at crusing speeds and while parking. If I turn the igniton off and coast or allow it to sit for a while it starts right back up. This happens around 2 times a week out of the blue. No check engine light but my mileage has dropped off to around 13 mpg from around 17 when I first got the truck. What do you guys think it is. I'm about ready to get rid of the truck!! Maybe I have to go back to FORD.
noooo dont go ford! lol
have you checked the iac?
try taking it out and cleaning it off but dont push it in or out. I sprayed mine with carb cleaner or electrical cleaner then wipe it with a rag. then I spray carb/throttle body cleaner into the hole wipe it clean. it works better if you remove the throttle body.
