Front end groaning noise
Okay. So I have a 1995 Dakota 318 manual 4x4. Just recently it started have a deep mechanical groaning noise when I let off the gas pedal. It almost sounds like when you’re power steering has no fluid. It’s loud when it’s in gear but quiets a little when I push in the clutch. It gets louder when I turn. I don’t know if it’s my clutch because it still engages fairly well. (Not an expert on clutches) my only other thought is that it might be the wheel bearing or cv axel. I got into fight with a curb awhile back and lost pretty badly. So ever since then the cv axel has been a little bit less than perfect, but it’s never made this sound. Any help would be appreciated
Sounds like your throw out bearing is about to pack it in. How many miles on the clutch? If you have to replace the bearing, I'd toss a new clutch set in while you're at it as you'll have most of the labor cost already.
It has probably 10-15k miles in clutch and throw out bearing. I had the tranny rebuilt a few years ago
