After almost 30 years the driver side window motor finally gave up the ghost. I have looked and searched EVERYWHERE ( except here until now).
After exposing the assembly. The bolts holding the motor are facing "out". How do I remove the motor??? without popping the rivets and taking the whole lift assembly apart?? Driver side window lift core Exposed Driver side window lift motor. 1991 Dodge Dakota
When searching for a replacement, several motors are different sizes, different gear and mounting configurations. What is the correct one ??

Reason: Additional Information: Search for replacement finds several motors that don't even look like the current one, not even same size
Here's the instructions from the factory service manual (picked the 1992 manual because that's the closest year; my 1988 is blurrier, and it's basically the same to 1996).
Hey, Thanks for the information. I was hoping to not having to remove window and not having to drill out the rivets. My follow-up, sounding dumb question is: What is a "tool C-4867 or equivalent" ?? Is there a picture?? or description??

My nephew who's ASE certified and trained in Mopars says that you can fake it for installation with a pair of thin putty knives; slip one in each side between the glider and the weatherstripping, and use them to protect the weather stripping.
If you also need new guides, they're available from Dorman - https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-11500-45284.aspx . Dorman shows 87-93, but the 84-96 part number 55135216 is NLA save on eBay and NOS dealers (New Original Stock, not Nitrous Oxide).
The 87-93 should fit, though; glass is the same, and weatherstripping the same.
Actually, thanks for clearing that up. I am mechanically included but only piddle when it comes to this truck. That's why I like this forum, I can ask simple, yet dumb novice questions and remain anonymous. But walk away with a wee bit more knowledge than before. Thanks
