Bought this Dakota For 500 Everything worked just sat for 3yrs. Every now and then OD would randomly Turn off while driving And ide turn it back on with the switch. I let it sit for about a month and Bam Overdrive stays off now so I replaced the OD solenoid Still nothing I checked fuse 16 replaced it also cleaned my Grounds. What should I start looking for I know its electrical The trans is good im just not good with electrical promblems. There are also no DTC Codes. Thanks In advance!!

 

No DTC codes. I assume you're using an adapter for the OBD 1.
Get yourself a wiring diagram.
Maybe check other wire terminals for corrosion and or breaks.
I've never played with such repairs or diagnostics during my years as an auto tech. My 1993 Dakota works just fine, so far knock on wood.

 

If you have the v6 it will be a 42rh and v8 will probably be 46rh. There is a 46rh auto trans manual in the FAQ section. Electronic components page 16
