Default Ball Joints?

Hey, just wondering if the upper ball joints on a 94 dakota (5.2L if that makes a difference) are pressed on or threaded on? The replacement I have seems to have some kind of threading in it but im not sure if thats for seating the ball joint once its pressed in or if it is meant to thread in.

As you can tell I'm doing some front end work....

ya, they are threaded in. you have to buy a special ball joint socket.
