i have run across a 89-90 dak convertible.i have a 95 dak with a strong 360 with a bunch of chassis mods"meaning i want to keep the chassis".has any one done a body swap from a early gen 1 dak to a late gen 1 dak.i'm not worried about interor,wiring or dash i can handle those swaps.i just need to know will my front fenders,cab mounts and body lines match.in other words will the cab bolt up and line up to the newer fenders and frame.the convertible donor is rough but the cab can be salvaged.i know the dak convertibles are rare but i think if this is possible i can at least save one of the convertables from the JUNK MAN.

i remember someone here swapping a newer nose onto the 89 model, i think it was longer so that he could fit a bigger radiator up front. might not be a perfect bolt on, but i dont see why it wouldnt work. measure the width and see how close they are, it will probably still be some work. the convertibles have different doors, windshield lays flatter and the top gasketining and latches are impossible to find as well as the fiberglass modings that wrap around the door tops and behind the rear window. the canvas is available on ebay with soft plastic, hard plastic and glass rear window. but doors, gasketing, and latches your pretty much on your own.
