Hey y'all. My 95 is making a sort of 'clunk' when I shift into gear (auto) if I'm on an incline. Moreso than it should anyways. Also when I'm crusing at a decent speed if I let of that gas suddenly I get a similar clunk. My buddy says it's a U Joint. Was wodnerin' if you guys agreed that that's what it could be. If so, how do I know which size, etc. to buy. And any advice on the install?

ya, sounds like a u joint. just go into a parts store and give them the information on your truck and they "should" give you the right ones.

I can do my u joints in less then 10 minutes. its pretty easy.

 

How do you go about changing the u-joints on the Dakota? I looked at mine and did not see any retaining clips. Are the cups pressed in or something?
