Indio. I was hoping the computer would take care of your problem. I would still like to know what you discover.
Keep me posted. Hemi

Question Same Problem - 27

Hi everyone,

I know this thread is really old, but I'm dealing with exactly the same problem. I've replaced the TPS, IAC valve, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel injectors, spark plugs (a horrible mishap at a supposed mechanic's shop resulted in diesel fuel being put in my truck. so I feel some of the parts needed replaced for that reason).

Anyway, as a female who didn't know a thing about auto mechanics, I've learned WAY more than I ever wanted to with this truck, which I happen to love, even though it's cost me a small fortune and still isn't fixed. The most recent part I threw at it was a new o2 sensor, which I'm proud to say I installed myself. And today, it's still doing the same thing. Same code #27, check engine light on intermittently, though it's on more often than not now. I was going to start checking wires, but I also have another PCM, given to me by the last owner, who said he had a problem and he thought he needed a new one, so he bought this one (reconditioned, I think) and then found out he could just have his reprogrammed? Anyway, he said to hold onto it because it was hard to find and I may need it one day. Does anyone know what I can do to make sure it's good? Would there be any harm in just putting it in to see what happens? Please tell me if this would hurt anything because I'm ready to swap this out today if there's no danger to my truck.

I won't say no danger; but if it starts, runs, and cures the code 27, it should be good.

If it doesn't start, or idles horribly, or doesn't run properly, swap back.
