Default Wipers on a '90 just died.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this Forum. I have a 90' with a 2.5L with mega miles. Truck runs great and gets awesome MPG. So, at 3 buck a gallon, I'm keeping it for use when a motorcycle is a little prohibitive. I need my wipers. The motor works when I jump the gound unfused (it runs). The fuse in the fuse box is good. I think the problem may be the pulse relay for the intermittant. Part #4503104, but I don't think you can test this unit. Does anyone have a parts truck out there. 1990 or earlier. The relay is under the dash and to the right of the steering column. Its labled on the side, is black and a little smaller but a little thicker than a pack of smokes. Send me an E-mail if you can help or post if you have any advise on this wiper problem.

After looking at the 1989 manual, I'd check the switch or wiring (there is also seems to be park switch as well - auto tranny?). It looks like the wipers should still work in low or high if the intermittent control unit was the only thing bad. The book says the motor is the same for both.
Regards,
Greg

Thanks everybody for the input. This is the deal. I ran a wire from the wiper motor housing to ground and everything is working fine. I even put the original pulse relay back in and everything works. apparently there is a ground spice that should consist on an 18 and 10 gauge wire, both black. This I can not find, so my jumper ground stays until rip the dash out of this truck and figure this out. But for know it's hot and there is plenty of beer. I hope this helps......If anyone knows the location of this ground splice... please speak up or stop by for a beer.

Thanks for the schem's gb6495, but mine are different, I show a ground splice...go figure. I checked Ohms resistance on my intermitant and I'm good. I just can't find where this bad ground is. Maybe another 12 pack willlift me to the required levelof brain power. Thanks for the help.
