Default What is it?

I recently got this truck, sweet deal for an 88 Dakota. I found a part however that is broken and seems to have a little moisture in it but I have no idea what it is or what it does. i checked the haynes manual and even tried to find wire colors in the diagrams (what a pain). anyway it is a blue plastic box about 2"x3" and it contains a waifer board. it is located on the drivers side above the fuse box and to the left. it has a connector with four wires. Anyone know what this is? I cant replace it if i cant tell the parts store what it is..lol. thanks.

Default RE: What is it?

I found out what this is so if anyone is curious read on. the component is a timing device for the engine maint required light. it counts miles and tells the light when to come on. to reset the light you change the 9V battery. This mosule is no longer avqailable through dodge so it cant be replaced however they said having one or not wont make the truck run any worse or better.
