Default Ignition fuse keeps blowing

My dad has a 92 Dakota Sport and his ignition fuse keeps blowing on him. Im gonna head over there to give him a hand, but I dont know where to start? We dont have anyway to check to see if its grounding out somewhere other then following wires, and Im sure that would take awhile? First he thought it was the ignition itself and replaced it, that worked for about a day. You guys have any ideas on what it might be or what we can check next? BTW, I did a search but didnt find what I needed.

Thanks!

Default RE: Ignition fuse keeps blowing

When does the fuse blow? When he starts the engine or when he turns on the blower, air conditioner, dome light, radio or some other electrical appliance? I would start by making sure everything is off and then start the engine. Check the fuse to see if it is still good. Then, one by one, turn on something else and see if that blows the fuse. You have too many volts being drawn on that circuit. I had a Saturn that did the same thing when I turned on the air conditioner Car kept running great until I turned it off, then I had to replace the fuse before I could start it again. Never did find the short, but knew I couldn't turn on the air conditioner. Got rid of that sucker!

It blows when you start it, sometimes it will start but then always blows. He checked the wires from the box to the ignition and everything was fine?
