Default 1994 Dakota Tach Fails to Register RPM

Sometimes when I start the truck the Tach won't work and then some other times the Tach stops working mid trip. Has anyone had this happend to them???

It could just be the Tach is going bad on it. The Cluster gauges going bad is a common thing. I would just look into a Junkyard, grab another and try that.

yeah the guage cluste is really easy to replace just kinda time consuming.

My tachometer quit working as well. I too have a 94 dakota. I took the cluster apart and the tachometer is like a plug and it just comes right out. Would I need to replace just the tachometer or the entire cluster?

Just the tac. The tac on my 90 has not worked for a year or more. My question is, is it the tac or is it a problem from the sending source. Please post the outcome if any of you replace the tac.
