Default 1988 Ignition switch wiring

Hi there! Not often you get to help a norwegian, huh?

My dad has got a 88 Dakota 3.9 V6, and I managed to destroy the ignition switch.[:@]
I've tried to hook up a couple of switches, but I can't get the starter going.

I've hooked up the red wire to the dark blue, this works for the ignition to be set in run.
I also tried to connect the red wire to the yellow through a push-button, but this didn't get the starter going.

Does anyone know how I can get the starter going?

Thanks,
Ole

Alright, I got it running! Looks like it was just a bad connection or something.

But now there's a new problem. Is the gear level changer(?) in contact with the ignition switch in some way?
It seems like I can't change gear from Park. How can I fix this?

There is a park lock pin that you can remove .But you will have to remove the steering wheel to get at it.But if you are going to go that far you could just replace it. If you have an tumble you can have it made to fit your key. Or just dump out the pins.
