Fan does not blow
It worked fine when I drove the 2 miles home. I started it up a half hour later and now it will not blow at any speed. (so it's not the resistor) I suppose I should check fuses first and then the blower motor?
well stupid me jumps to conclusions that the motor is bad so I tear out the dash and pull the motor. Once I have it out I had the bright idea to test it. Turns out it works fine and the problem is somewhere else. So now I have to chase wires and test the resistor and the switch... Grr...
While my dash is apart I figured I would try to find out why water is leaking onto my front passenger floor. Has any else had this problem??
btw its a 1990 LE extended cab 2wd 3.9L V6

Update for those interested. After tearing out my dash, pulling the motor, pulling out the fan control switch and chasing what looked to be a ground problem for hours, I finally just yanked out the resistor to just look at it since it was the only component I hadnt checked in detail. Sure enough it was heavily corroded and one of the wires had broken. I bought a new one for ten bucks and everything works fine. Now I have the enjoyment of putting everything back together...
Dont test circuits with a $2 test probe...

Ok, Did you figure out why you're getting water in your passenger side?
You're not the only one, I have it and so does my brother!!
Would love to know if anyone else has this and has figured out where it's coming from

i have the problem with the fan not running. have replaced the resistor for the fan on the firewall. it worked ok at first. but after a few days it back to the same old deal. raise the hood move the resistor around and the wires. sometimes it will come on sometimes not. any ideas, what the problem is?
could be a bad resistor. do you see any corroded wires? Check the connector for any wires that may have backed out.

i really didn't see any corrosion. i have wondered if it could be with the wires, or the plug that goes on the resistor.the old resistor i took out looked pretty much just like the new one. didn't see anything wrong with it.
