Default peeling paint & no fan

part #1. one question is i have a 96' dakota that has peeling paint (white). i have seen peeling paint on different types of trucks, like chevy. was a certain year a bad year for paint or what is the reason. part #2. my ac/heat fan stopped working. it had went off a few times in thepast, but would always come back on. i checked in the dash and looks kind of like it's made all together in a module. is it likely to be the switch or maybe the fan itself?

Default RE: peeling paint & no fan

Paint peeling is common on a lot of mid 90's trucks. A cheap fix is to blow off any loose paint with an air compressor and sanding the edges of the peeling paint. Then just buy some glossy spray paint. Mine looked okay (a lot better than what it was) but I recently had the whole truck re-painted professionally.

Your fan is most likely the resistor pack. Its a $15 part from any parts store and should be on the passenger side firewall under the hood.
