MY check engine light no longer works???
Hey all,
So WTF, I just noticed the other day while trying to pull up engine codes that my check engine light isn't working. I was pulling my codes cause my truck would not start, I think it has something to do w/ the fuel pump, I could hear it comiing on and not coming on when I statred the truck.
I tried disconnecting the battery but after half an hour or so the check engine light is still not working. The rest of the instrunment cluster is working fine... has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas as to why? I don't live anywhere closer than a two hour tow job to a dodge dealer.
It is a 94 5.2L dakota. THe light doesn't come on when you turn the igntion on either, like the ABS, airbag, and oil light.
Any ideas on this one fellas?

the engine cranks over right? Spray some starting fluid into the intake. if it ignites but doesnt start then you have a fuel issue. if nothing happens you probably have a spark issue. as for the dash lights inop, check your fuses and make sure the battery has enough power.
THanks guys, pretty sure it is the fuel pump wires, I'll find out for sure today and check the wire splice at the PDC. I thought the instument cluster had to be replaced as a whole unit... that would be nice if it was just a burned out bulb.
