I am getting a 85 ramharger with a 318 in it for free. The tranny and engine run good, but the axle is bent and the guy does not feel like messing with it anymore. it is a 2 barrel stocker, but has been treated very well and runs like a top. I am thinking about a basic rebuild(new rings, pistons, bearings, seals, oil pump, etc...), swapping the cam, getting rid of the smog, and getting and edelbrock intake with a 4barrel on it. Any of you guys have any idea what kind of power that would be running at? It has like 120hp from the factory, but 230ft. lbs. of torque. It is pretty plugged up with that two barrel though!

I think that is a good Idea. I would think a lot of people will say the premangum is undered powerd. But if youwant it you could make decent power off of it. It looks like you got a good plan to get it going. If you are looking for some performace tips. If you can find any magnum heads 5.2 or 5.9 it will fit.(as far as I have heard) the magnum heads has a better flow through disine. Or just deck down your heads .030 you will increse your compression ratio. You should take it in to the machine shop anyways to replace the valve seals and to check the valves. I paid 80 to deck down both heads. If you take your block in, deck the head mating surface down to. There easy upgrades. If you want you can also bore the cylenders but Im sure you know that too. So good luck.

Anyways, if you kept the 318 without a poke and stroke you can easily get about 300HP to the rear wheels as long as you get a good combo going. The Air Gap is a nice intake.
Or if you have the money, just go with a 390 stroker.
