I priced the individual front turning and corner lamps to replace the cracked, faded and mildew filled lenses on my 93 Dakota, but found the headlight door replacement was a cheaper option to me - my Dakota has the composite aka "aero package" headlamps.
I bought one new "headlight door" (apparently a fancy name for the trim piece and markers surrounding the headlight) off of eBay for $44.93 plus $19.07 for shipping to see what kind of quality I was getting before committing to another.
My door arrived a week later and much to my surprise, the Taiwan made reproduction appears to be an excellent copy of the stock piece. The lens and frame quality were excellent with no blemishes in the plastic or chrome and the fit of the lenses into the frame is very good....I'll have to see how the plastic holds up to fading in the long run but for now, the replacement looks like a very good value. Attached are photos of the old and new doors.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I bought both for $64 plus $20 total. Yes, they are asian junk but they looked better than the one that was broke. I didn't like it but I liked the dealer price worse. Face it, my truck is almost 15 years old so it will not be perfect, just perfect for me. Good luck with your truck.

 

hmm my trim is broke above the headlight...although i need a black trim piece. Guessing by Wick93's response they dont last long? i dont plan on replacing it until after winter anyways just incase i get hit or something.

 

$84 with shipping, that's a good deal! I found a few cheaper than what I paid on eBay but the sellers had too much negative feed back. I also bought an "Eagle Eye" brand headlight off of eBay, then turned around and found the same headlight $11 cheaper at headlightwarehouse.com

 

Don't get me wrong, they aren't that bad and they were worth what I paid. But they are not $125 each from the dealer either. LOL

I need to replace my headlights too so thanks for the headlightwarehouse info.
