You're gonna need a repair manual for the wiring diagrams (unless you feel like looking them up on line). If your '87 has electronic spark control (should), it will have a crank angle sensor.

But first things first. You can test for coil power and signal with a test light. For power, hook the light to ground and then probe the coil + term. with key on. If it lights, you have power. To check for signal at the coil, hook the test light to battery + and then touch to the coil - while cranking. If it flashes, signal is OK and the no spark is a bad coil. If the coil doesn't have power or signal, that's when you need to go after the SCC and signal. To actually test the crank angle sensor is when you'll need a scope (not a cheap piece of equipment, with basic 2 channel units running ~$1,200 and up)

i have tried, checked all of these and replaced everything and the only other thing that i can think of is that it may be is a fuseable link but i don't know where they are located does anyone know about where to look for them at.

if the vehicle has power but will not turn over then it could be a starter issue. Tap the starter with a hammer and see if it cranks the motor over.
