Default master cylinder issues

was driving home from work, stopped at the entrance to the apts. when i felt something burst. pulled in to my apt and checked under the hood. fluid is leaking between the reservoir and the firewall, not sure if it is the seal or something else. has anyone replaced the master cylinder and if so is it a major p.i.t.a?

Default RE: master cylinder issues

I had replaced mine before. It is easy. The only thing that takes a long time is bleeding the brakes. Bleed the master cylender before in install the lines. Then bleed out the lines from furthest toclosest.
