Default 90 Dakota - Weird electrical gremlins

Here's what's going on.

During normal driving speed (city traffic), I am losing voltage. The radio goes dead, the battery meter in the dash almost goes to zero, but no loss of power in the engine. In about a minute, the voltage goes back to full.

Am I right in thinking it could be the voltage regulator?

It sounds like you got a lose wire somewhere.

my trucks doing the same thing only its a 92. ive replaced the alternator, the battery, the negative and positive cables, all the grounds for the truck, the plugs, wires, and distributor, cleaned all the carbon out of the throdle body, did a coolant flush, replaced the radiator, thermostat and hoses, changed the oil, changed the fuel filter, changed the tranny fluid (mines manual), changed the differential fluid, and the fuel pump and its still doing it. the dealership was the only one who could tell me it was the computer seems how the voltage regulator is in the computer. i hafto replace the computer but id say seems how your problem isnt affecting the engine check the ground that goes from the firewall to the frame. it looks much like a shoe lace and if they get the slightest dirty it causes it not to ground. also check your negative battery cable connections at the block and inner fender. also check the ground to the fuse block that could have something to do with it. sorry i cant tell you your problem but i hope i just made it a little easier to figure it out.

All these problems were things the dealership told me could possibly have something to do with my problem.
I bought the truck for 600 and already put 1200 into it but now i know if the motor blows all i gotta do is replace the motor with a brand new one which is right around 1600 or something which sounds a lil spendy but im still looking cuz no miles on this truck would be perfect seems how everything else is new.

I have a 95 Dakota and I have a bunch of quirks with my electrical system. I just deal with them all. These seem to have lots of problems with the wiring.
