window crank

Default window crank

anyone know how to remove the widnow crank on a 96 dakota i cant get it off theres no screws or anything

yeah, there is a compression clip behind the crank. You need a special tool to get it off. I just had to do that the other week.

ok is that and the door handle all you need ot pop off along with the switch that controls the side mirrior to remove the door trim?. cause im trying to put new speakers in

I have use two screwdrivers to get the clip off. Push in on the panel and look down behind the crank and you can see the ears of the clip. Takes a little fiddling with but will come off. There are clips on the sides and bottom of the panel that pop out will need a screw driver to wedge between the panel and doorframe and pop each one out. When you put the panel back on make sure the clips line up with the hole and smack the panel into place.

no need for storebought tool - push back on the door panel and look down where the crank handle slides onto the shaft. there is a small clip round the shaft. use a pick, or a piece of stiff wire/coat hanger with a very short 90* bend. the clip is shaped like a horseshoe. grap the head of the clip, and give it a good tug.

now - be aware - when the clip pops off, its likely to go flying off, so do this on concrete, and put your hand around the area to try and catch the little bastard.
