F'ING T-CASE!
okay. so the Tcase in my truck has been garbage from day one. skipping and ****.
for the first time ever it actually started to work decent. it was still clicking, but it would engauge the way its suppost to , no forcing or messing around with it...
i had to drive my buddy home lastnight and i had it is 4x4 all the way to his house. its hilly and there was a decent amount of snow.dropped him off and for some reason i took it outta 4x4. thought the old dakota would be able to crawl out the hills the opposite way in 2wd.
wrong!.
got 1/2 way up the hill and it stopped. tried to put it in 4x4 NOTHING. the light goes on and it sounds like it might (MIGHT) be doing something under there.
i dont have the truck home yet. i limped it back to his driveway, and took his truck.
so did the chain snap in there?..
im gonna look over the vac lines. buti doubt thats what it is..
thanks again guys

dude that sucks. well I think since your truck is a 92 it doesnt have cad. I belive it stoped in 91 I may be wrong tho. But just incase check to see if it has hoses down there. If you chain snaped I would expect a deadly sound out of it.It might just be the shiftleakage loose or something like that.
central axle disconnect. (2 piece passenger side axle with slip coupling). alternative to locking hubs, actuator motors, etc.

Well I dont beleive that it would be possible to snap that chain under those circumstances. I would check the linkage and vaccum lines first and foremost. regardless, you will have to replace that chain sometime soon if you want reliable 4wd[:@].
