converting 3.9 V6 auto to 5.2 V8 Manual
this is my fisrt dakotas and I am serious aboutgetting as much as I can out ofthem.Any help Appreciated!!!
ok im new here, I love this forum and I need a lil help with my new 1991 Dakota. Its a 3.9 throttle body injetion Auto 4x4 and I also have a 1993 3.9 Magnum with the magnum injection system on it with a stick 4x4. This will be a multi step prosess but here come the questions;
I know how to convert rigs from auto to manual not to hard anybody know of any other problems I might run into like drivelines. Are they different?
how hard is it going to be to convert the fuel injection system from the old one to the magnum? computer, wiring harness, how far will I have to dig into it.
When I do convert it to a 5.2 I want to leave it a magnum setup so what do I need to do to convert the v6 magnum harness for the v8
Will the 5.2 use the same late model motor mounts as the v6
and will the serpentine setup on the magnum 3.9 V6 fit on my 5.2 V8 I know that the 3.9 is just a 318 missing 2 holes but is it that right on?
oh and will my fly wheel on my stick truck fit the V8.

I belive your going to need to have practcly everything from the mag. I heard the motor mount location is differnt from a mag. and a premag. The tranny mount will probably have to be relocated. Your cant use any of you stock wire setup for the engine. You will need the complete wireing harness under the hood and computer.your going to have to get creative with the interior wires. As far as hooking up gauges and ignition and check engine light. You most likly will need the driveshaft also from the newer dak. It is possible but plan way ahead in invance before you do it.
