aftermarket antena
Im not to sure what kind mine is but it is an aftermarket one that is tall and thick. I bought it to get better signal when out in the woods. Works great! You can check out this site. They have a varrity of antennas availbe from shorter or taller ones. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/B...up?Ntt=antenna
if you have a hard tonneau on the bed of the truck
consider replacing the factory antenna
with a hidden loop of wire under the tonneau
which will actual work better than the quarter wave whip
with the horizontal polarization
and the larger capture area.

thats a good idea but i was wondering if i cut my stock one like johnymagnum if it would effect the signal alot

sorry, I forgot about this post. ya, I lost abit of signal. but not much. I cut mine down to 12" and put a lil cap over top of it. just get a junk yard one, and keep cuttinga lil but off at a time until you start getting static. I dont listen to the radio too much anyways.
