Default 92 dakota

Hey, we have a 92 dodge dakota. It has a v8 magnum, and I have a few questions. First off, what liter would the engine be? Also, is it fuel injected or carberated? it has the big round filter on top of the engine which is what made me think it was carberated in the first place. Now to the problem. When driving, sometimes when I stop the engine would die. Most of the time it's when I barely press the gas, like in a parking lot or something, and when I put it in reverse and press the brake it'll die, and when I turn the steering wheel hard, it'll stall. The truck is not mine, it's a family members. Thanks in advance for any help.

The engine should be mutipoint fuel injection. Approximation from litres to cubic inch displacement. Multiply the litres by 61.00 and this should give you a close to the cid.

Your truck is a V8 Magnum 318 5.2L or 5200cc you find liters by dividing 318CID by 61. It is fuel injection they stopped using carbs in 92 on our trucks. The big round filter is your air filter. First thing you need to do to find whats wrong is check for troublecodes. But from the sounds of it, it could be vaccum leak somewhere or clean your IAC

A 92 Dakota would have a 5.2 if it's a v8 .It has tune port injection. On the back of the throttle body there is a little motor that controls the idle speed .Remove the plug and two tork screws and clean the cone shape on the shaft. Then with a twisted rag or Q-tip clean the seat in the hole.Carb cleaner works the best
