Default burnt distributor rotor

my '95 dakota 318ci. with 88,000 miles began stalling at stops after driving 2-3 miles. i replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor. the rotor was badly burnt. it ran slightly rough but had power and normal fuel mileage. after about 900 miles, it began to stall again and roughness got worse. the rotor was burnt bad again and a fine dust was inside the cap. replaced rotor again and doesn't stall but runs rough at about 1000 rpm. i'm stumped! anyone have any ideas?
thanks,
ed

did you buy cheap parts? you may want to have the distributor tested or the ignition coil

Or you can be getting to much moisture inside the cap. Or the distributer is miss alined or a bad IAC valve or a vacuum leak.

Have you got another distributor you can try out? I have a hunch a different distributor would clear up all your problems.
